Curriculum
Curriculum is similar to a blueprint for a construction of a home. It is a well written plan of what students are expected to know and be able to perform at the conclusion of the academic year. Each educational year, students are expected to know various subjects, facts, and/or methods; therefore, there is cohesiveness from one year to the next. Although teachers use different teaching styles, the subject should relatively stay the same when following a similar curriculum. I believe there needs to be many players involved when designing a curriculum. Teachers, parents, administrators, and the board of education should be involved at some level when developing a particular curriculum. In result, the responsibility of implementing a curriculum falls on the teacher's shoulder.

I love the comparison of curriculum being similar to a blueprint for a construction of a home. Also, how you mentioned that curriculum is a well written plan of what students are expected to know and be able to perform at the conclusion of the academic year. Therefore, curriculum should be viewed the way you described by those hired to write the curriculum, they should have the end goal in mind from the beginning.
